Helping Dogs Heal, One Yes at a Time
A nonprofit rescue and rehabilitation organization giving dogs the care, comfort, and second chance they deserve.
Love From Louie exists for the dogs who need someone to step in, show up, and say yes.
We provide compassionate support for dogs and companion animals who need medical care, rehabilitation, comfort, and a chance at a safer, healthier future.
Some come to us after neglect. Some need time, patience, and healing before they are ready for what comes next. Some simply need someone willing to believe they are worth the effort.
At Love From Louie, every dog matters. Every story matters. And every act of support helps us keep going.
What We Do
Our work may look different from dog to dog, but our mission stays the same: to help animals in need receive the support, treatment, and love they deserve.
That may mean helping with medical care and veterinary support, providing rehabilitation for dogs who need extra time and attention, offering safe and loving care during recovery, supporting animals with urgent or special needs, and helping connect dogs to trusted homes when the right fit is possible.
Every dog has a story.
Some stories begin with fear, pain, or uncertainty. But with care, patience, and love, many begin to change. A dog who once shut down starts to trust. A dog who was hurting begins to heal. A dog who had nowhere to go finds safety, comfort, and hope.
These stories are the heart of Love From Louie.
Meet some of the sweet dogs who have been part of our journey…this is the difference your support makes.
-

Hiccup
Hiccup came to Love From Louie after he had been hit by a car, left unclaimed, and found with devastating injuries. Even with a shattered shoulder, a broken leg, and a broken neck, he ate, wagged his tail, gave kisses, and showed everyone that he still wanted a chance.
-

Kash
Kash was found in the weeds, in the rain, with a broken pelvis and a body full of matted fur. After days of unfamiliar places, unfamiliar faces, and pain, he finally settled into a cozy space where he could rest, heal, and begin again.
-

Dusty
Dusty is sweet, funny, lovable, housebroken, social, and happiest when he was cuddling or watching TV. An untreated ear issue had caused an infection and eardrum rupture, but Dusty had already shown he deserved every chance to live, heal, and be loved.

Itty Bitty & babies
On New Year’s Eve, Itty Bitty and her three newborn babies came to Love From Louie scared and in need of safety. In a warm, comfortable place, she was able to care for her boys until all three were healthy, ready, and welcomed into forever families.

Howie
Howie came to Love From Louie from the Detroit area after he had been found as a stray with a dislocated hip that had been out for quite some time. When the shelter was not able to repair his hip, Love From Louie stepped in with pain management, FHO surgery, and the chance for Howie to keep his leg and begin an entirely new life.
Help us say yes
There are always more dogs who need our help, and Love From Louie depends on community support to continue this work. When you donate, share, volunteer, or help spread the word, you’re helping us say yes to dogs who may not have many other options.
Love From Louie began with one very special dog
Louie’s story is part of the heart behind this work and the reason this organization continues to fight for dogs who need extra love, extra time, and extra care.
His legacy lives on through every animal helped, every donation given, and every person who chooses to believe in second chances.
