Violet
I met this little girl at the Dog Pound where she had been lying for eleven days with a crushed pelvis on the left side and a severe laceration on her right leg. Animal Control picked her up off the road where she had been lying helpless and in agony. She was not wearing a collar, is not micro-chipped and no one has made any inquiries or lost postings for a purebred Rat Terrier. She is currently in my care with the assistance of my dear and tolerant friend Donna Koch, veterinary technician and Blackman Animal Clinic practice Manager, and the always wonderful Dr. Margaret Berry who made a weekend house call to assist with pain medication and to check bandages. Violet will undergo surgery Thursday morning with Dr. Berry in hopes of restoring some structure and usefulness to her hind leg. Update 10/18/13
Thank You doesn’t seem “BIG” enough, but THANK YOU to everyone that has contributed to Violet’s medical expenses. After more extensive x-rays than she received at the County pound, it was determined that she would need to see an orthopedic specialist. Violet is undergoing surgery today at MSU Veterinary Hospital. Your continued support and contributions through Love From Louie make an immeasurable difference in the lives of those we join together to help.

Two lovely girls to forever homes in two days! Thank You Laurie Thompson Dahl for making Violet part of your “Rat Pack”. She’s a beautiful addition to a beautiful family. I’m so proud of my pack and their ability to accept, nurture and heal those that come into their home. Things are currently very quiet at the Steenrod house, but feeling blessed.
